CHP investigating deadly Hat Creek rollover
HAT CREEK — At least one person has died after a solo-vehicle crash in Hat Creek this morning, Saturday, Nov. 16. The fatal collision, which involved at least two occupants, happened along SR-89, just south of the post office and Doty Rd., according to a CHP incident log.

CHP, Cal Fire and other emergency personnel were first alerted to the crash about 10 a.m., after receiving reports of a major injury traffic collision. According to a CHP incident log, a 911 caller who reported the crash told emergency dispatchers that a tan vehicle had overturned after running off the roadway, “near the old red schoolhouse.”
Based on the victim’s injuries, officials requested an air ambulance to the scene and a SEMSA helicopter was soon dispatched to the location to air-lift at least two victims injured in the crash.
While officials worked at the scene SR-89 remained open and no significant delays in commuter travel times were reported.
Although officials have not yet responded to a request for further information and details regarding the deadly accident, at around 2:17 p.m. CHP updated their log that the incident had resulted in at least one fatality.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
