PERRIS — Authorities have announced the apprehension of the man they allege was responsible for last Wednesday’s shooting death of 25-year-old, Perris resident, Jose Eduardo Bellozo.

The fatal shooting happened at Perris’ Paragon Park, at 264 Spectacular Bid St.

Without release any details about what may have led to the deadly shooting, in an updated press release Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Carrol wrote that at around 2 a.m., yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 15, deputies located and arrested Renato Ivan Sanchez for Bellozo’s murder.

According to jail records, Sanchez was arrested on Water Ave., just down the street from Paragon Park where the shooting took place.

Jail records also indicate Sanchez remains in custody at Cois Bird Detention Center in Murrieta, where he is being held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Riverside’s Hall of Justice Feb. 20.

PERRIS — Although no arrests have been made following the deadly shooting of a man at a Perris park Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, officials say they have identified the alleged shooter and are actively searching for the parolee they described as armed and dangerous. The deadly shooting happened at Paragon Park at 264 Spectacular Bid St.

Wednesday’s shooting was the fourth violent incident in the Perris area over a ten day period to end with deaths or serious injuries. The four incidents happened within a seven mile radius and ended with the deaths of three people and three others suffering gunshot wounds.

The other three violent incidents include the deadly shooting of a Temecula man at a gas station on the 200 block of E. 4th St. on Sunday, Feb. 2; an assault that left one man dead and another injured at Menifee’s Eller Park – which is located just outside Perris city limits – one week later on Sunday, Feb. 9; and another that left three men with gunshot wounds in a residential neighborhood on the 1500 block of Ashbury Way on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Deputies were first alerted to Wednesday’s fatal shooting shortly after 6 p.m., sheriff’s officials initially reported via a Twitter release.

“Deputies arrived within minutes and found an unconscious male adult lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound,” Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Carroll reported today in a follow-up press release. “Despite life-saving efforts by deputies and medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The victim has since been identified as 25-year-old, Jose Eduardo Bellozo, from Perris.

Citing their ongoing investigation, officials did not specify what may have led to the shooting; however, Carroll updated that homicide investigators have identified the alleged shooter as 38-year-old parolee, Renato Ivan Sanchez.

Although investigators have been searching for Sanchez, he has not yet been located or apprehended and the Sheriff’s investigation is ongoing.
