Deputy, 2 others hospitalized after Moreno Valley crash
MORENO VALLEY — California Highway Patrol is investigating an injury traffic collision after an on-duty Riverside County sheriff’s deputy was involved in a three-vehicle crash in Moreno Valley early Tuesday morning, March 10. Rain-slicked roads may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
Yesterday’s collision, which sent the deputy and two other drivers to the hospital, happened in the area of Perris Blvd. and Ironwood Ave.

CHP, Cal Fire, AMR and deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were first alerted to yesterday morning’s crash around 1:40 a.m., after receiving reports of a three-vehicle traffic collision involving a patrol vehicle.
When officials arrived they found three wrecked vehicles, including a marked, black and white patrol cruiser that sustained major front-end damage. Two other heavily-damaged vehicles; which were described as a yellow and black Smart car and white pickup truck, were nearby. Vehicle parts and debris were scattered across the roadway and several lanes were blocked and impassable.
The three drivers and sole occupants of the involved vehicles were all transported to area hospitals with injuries a Riverside County Sheriff’s representative later described as non-life-threatening.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision and no further information has been released.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
