Wanted parolee’s arrest ends Shasta Lake barricaded standoff
CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. — Authorities say a wanted felon was apprehended after barricading herself first in someone’s home and then inside their bathroom Saturday morning, March 20.
The woman, since identified as Cassidy Corrine Faler, age 36, of Redding, was eventually taken into custody after deputies forced their way into the bathroom where the parolee had been hiding.

Deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s City of Shasta Lake Division were dispatched to a private residence in the 13000 block of Hill Boulevard around 11 a.m. after a citizen called 911 to report that Faler had just walked into their residence, Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy David Renfer later reported.
“Faler is currently on CDC parole and had an active felony warrant for a parole violation,” Renfer explained; adding, “Faler also has a history of resisting arrest and carrying weapons.”

When deputies arrived, they spotted Faler standing in the front doorway of the residence.
“Faler refused verbal commands from deputies and ran back into the residence, locking the front door,” said Renfer.
A man who resides at the home opened the front door for deputies, at which time they discovered Faler had locked and barricaded herself inside one of the home’s bathrooms.
“Faler had locked the door and barricaded herself inside the bathroom in order to avoid arrest,” Renfer described.
After deputies made several unsuccessful attempts to convince Faler to exit the bathroom they eventually forced entry into the bathroom where Faler was taken into custody without further incident.
