Murder investigation continuing after man’s bullet-riddled body found in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Authorities today are continuing to investigate the murder of a man whose bullet-riddled body was discovered inside a car parked in a Riverside commercial area early Wednesday morning, June 2. Officials have not yet identified the victim and have not identified or located any potential suspects related to the deadly shooting.

City of Riverside police officers were dispatched to the scene around 6:20 a.m. after the City’s Public Safety Communications Center received a call from an employee at a nearby business called police after finding an unresponsive man near a vehicle in the 6100 block of Quail Valley Court in Riverside, Riverside Police Department has since reported.

When officers arrived, they found the body of a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim, who appeared to be in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Detectives with the department’s Robbery – Homicide Unit, along with Specialists from the Forensics Unit, responded and assumed the investigation. They were also assisted by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office and the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and officers were later seen using an aerial drone to document and photograph the scene from above.

“The identity of the victim is being held pending the notification of family members and the Coroner’s investigation,” said RPD; adding, “This homicide investigation is still ongoing and there are no further details to release at this time.”

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
