UPDATE: Moreno Valley woman, 67, ID’d after fatally struck while walking in Perris

PERRIS, Calif. — Authorities say an elderly Moreno Valley woman was fatally struck while walking in Perris, near the intersection of Rider Street and Redlands Avenue, Monday morning, June 21.

Deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the scene around 11 a.m. after receiving reports of a major injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Hibbler has since reported.
“Deputies arrived within minutes and found a collision involving a blue, 2003 Honda CRV and an unknown female pedestrian,” Hibbler explained; saying she had suffered major injuries.

Although life-saving measures were performed, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene.
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials have since identified Olinda Limache-Abregu, 67, of Moreno Valley, as the victim killed in the collision. A coroner’s release indicated she was pronounced deceased at 11:13 a.m.
Based on the circumstances, members of the Perris Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

The driver, who was not injured in the collision, was questioned at the scene by investigating deputies.
Pending toxicology results, it is not yet known if alcohol and/or drug intoxication were contributing factors in the fatal accident and the Sheriff’s investigation is continuing.
All westbound traffic was shut down for several hours while deputies and other officials worked at the scene.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
