Three injured, one seriously, after car plows into Jurupa Valley power pole
JURUPA VALLEY, Calif., — Three people were injured, including one who suffered major traumatic injuries, after a vehicle plowed head-on into a power pole in Jurupa Valley early Sunday morning, July 31. All three victims were hospitalized with injuries ranging from moderate to serious after the accident, that happened in the 8000 block of Mission Boulevard between Pyrite and Caleb streets, according to fire officials.

CAL FIRE-Riverside County Fire Department and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly before 2 a.m., according to a social media release from the agency.
Arriving officials found a solo-vehicle crash involving a car that had smashed into a power pole, sheering the pole and knocking it to the ground.

Firefighters found three injured and trapped victims, including one who required “extensive” extrication, CAL FIRE reported from the scene.
About an hour after the call was dispatched, firefighters managed to extricate all three victims, who were transported to area hospitals for further treatment of their injuries.
SoCal Edison later responded to the scene to replace the downed power pole and the wrecked vehicle was later towed from the location.

While officials worked at the scene Mission Boulevard was closed for several hours between Pyrite and Caleb streets, but the roadway has since been reopened.
Alcohol and/or drug intoxication have not been ruled out as contributing factors and officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
