Ten recent Mt. Shasta arrests include man arrested twice in two days

MT. SHASTA, Calif., — Mt. Shasta Police Department reports that over the last two weeks, from July 24 through August 6, officers responded to 267 calls for service that resulted in nineteen new cases and ten arrests.
Comparatively, during the prior two week period the department responded to 354 calls for service that resulted in twenty-two new cases and five arrests, while the previous two week period saw officers respond to 365 calls for service that resulted in twenty-two new cases and seven arrests.

Public contacts over the last two weeks resulting from 911 calls, self-initiated patrol activities, and other investigations ended with arrests for a variety of mostly minor crimes, including battery, possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, warrants, trespassing and vandalism. More serious criminal charges over the last two weeks included domestic battery and making criminal threats.
Additionally, one man was arrested on back-to-back days for public intoxication, as well as battery on a person. He was released within hours of both arrests.
- On 7/26/21, 42 year old Michelle Martin was arrested for possession of controlled substance and smoking device. She was cited and released.
- On 7/26/21, 34 year old Jonathan Cason was arrested for domestic battery without visible injury. He was cited and released.
- On 7/26/21, Jeremiah Chioino was arrested on a warrant. He was cited and released.
- On 7/28/21, 34 year old Trevor Hanson was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail.
- On 7/30/21, 37 year old Robert Hughes was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail.
- On 7/30/21, 43 year old Phillipa Williams was arrested on a warrant. He was cited and released.
- On 7/30/21, 52 year old Mike Brama was arrested for trespassing. He was booked into Siskiyou County Jail.
- On 7/31/21, 36 year old Grant Schunemann-Marchelli was arrested for vandalism and criminal threats. He was booked into the Siskiyou County Jail.
- On 7/30/21, 39 year old Jonah Bronce Otwell was arrested for battery on a person and public intoxication.

Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg, breaking his back, and suffering both spinal cord and brain injuries in an off-duty accident. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
