MSPD News Briefs: Eight recent Mt. Shasta arrests – New officer hits the streets

MT. SHASTA, Calif., — Mt. Shasta Police Department reports that over the last two weeks, from Oct. 31 through Nov. 12, officers responded to 286 calls for service that resulted in seventeen new cases and eight arrests.

Comparatively, during the prior two-week period the department responded to 270 calls for service that resulted in nineteen new cases and six arrests, while the two-week period before that saw officers respond to 355 calls for service that resulted in twenty-eight new cases and six arrests.

Public contacts resulting from 911 calls, self-initiated patrol activities, and other investigations over the last two weeks ended with arrests for a variety of mostly minor crimes such as trespassing, obstructing or resisting a peace officer, battery, and disturbing the peace. Several local and out-of-county warrants were also served over the last two weeks.

Those arrested over the last two weeks include: 

  • On November 5, 2021 32-year-old Dan Goebel Noguchi was arrested for Trespassing and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
  • On November 5, 2021 30-year-old Julio Augusto Cardona was arrested on Outside Warrants.
  • On November 8, 2021 33-year-old Albert Trujillo was arrested on an outside warrant.
  • On November 9, 2021 52-year-old Douglas Scott Roberts was arrested for trespassing.
  • On November 10, 2021 44-year-old Michelle Marie Harvey was arrested for battery.
  • On November 10, 2021 36-year-old Donald Thomas Perry was arrested on a local warrant.
  • On November 11, 2021 52-year-old Douglas Scott Roberts was arrested for battery.
  • On November 12, 2021 66-year-old Jose Luis Gonzalez was arrested on a local warrant.

In other Mt. Shasta PD news, long-time MSPD employee Stephen Goldsberry officially stepped into his new role as a full-time police officer for the city.

Officer Goldsberry started his law enforcement career with Redding Police Department as a cadet in 2001 and he graduated from Butte College Law Enforcement Academy in 2005.

In 2009, Goldsberry moved to Mt. Shasta and has served his mountain community in many ways including as a reserve police officer, part-time emergency dispatcher, and part-time firefighter for the Mt. Shasta Fire Department.

During a ceremony last week, which was held outside the Mt. Shasta Police Department, Goldsberry’s badge was pinned by his girlfriend Danielle Hough; after which he began his field training.

Trevor Montgomery, 50, moved in 2017 to the Intermountain area of Shasta County from Riverside County and runs Riverside County News Source (RCNS) and Shasta County News Source (SCNS).

Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
