Anderson area arrest warrant sweep nets six offenders

ANDERSON, Calif., — Authorities say six people were arrested as a result of a multi-agency arrest warrant sweep conducted in the city of Anderson and surrounding unincorporated communities Tuesday, Feb. 22.

All of those arrested were for offenders who had active felony warrants for their arrest, according to officials.

During the sweep, members of the Anderson Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team, along with the Shasta County Probation Department and the Shasta County Marshall’s Office, fanned out throughout the Anderson and Cottonwood areas of Shasta County and began contacting those suspected of having outstanding warrants.

The following subjects were arrested as a result of the sweep:

Dena Baker, age 50, of Anderson was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Larry Eiffert, age 48, of Anderson was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Nira Lozoyz, age 40, of Cottonwood was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for DUI resulting in great bodily injury.

Matthew Smith, age 20, of Anderson, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition and a violation of probation.

David Stroup, age 55, of Anderson, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Brittany Carrera, age 28, of Anderson, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear on a felony charge.

Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
