Alleged Coachella Valley Burglar Arrested After Nearly $1M In Burglaries

On November 10, 2015, the Burglary Suppression Unit served a property related search warrant near the 72000 block of Cholla Drive, Palm Desert, after a thorough investigation into multiple residential and storage facility burglaries.

On October 28, The Riverside County Sheriff’s Palm Desert Station’s Burglary Suppression Unit began investigating a past residential burglary that occurred near the 49000 block of Ridge View Way, Palm Desert. In that single burglary, the suspect stole property totaling more than $700,000.
During their investigation, the Burglary Suppression Unit developed investigative leads that led them to the suspect and the residence where they eventually served the search warrant. The premises that was searched contained a large amount of stolen property; including golf clubs, electronics, jewelry, collectibles, and sports memorabilia.
The recovered stolen property is believed to have been taken from numerous storage facility and residential burglaries throughout the Coachella Valley.
Evidence related to possession of methamphetamine and heroin for sales were also located at the premises. Additional victims have been identified and the investigation is ongoing. 
According to Sergeant A. Eller of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, David Pedersen, a 54-year-old, Palm Desert resident, was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, drug sales, elder abuse, and a violation of bail. He was booked in the Riverside County Jail located in the city of Indio.
