Riverside Police Arrest Another Man With A Gun At Bar/Deli-2nd Night In A Row

On Sunday, Nov. 15, just after 2:00 p/m., officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the Hideaway Café, located in the 3700 block of Main Street, regarding a subject with a gun. According to the Hideaway Café’s website, the business is best known as a Bar, Nightclub, and Café and is located in the historic Mission Inn District.

Upon arrival, the responding officers contacted a male on the sidewalk by the front doors of the business. When an officer attempted to contact the suspect the officer could see a handgun sticking out of the suspect’s pants.

Officers safely detained the suspect and removed the handgun from the his pants. A search was conducted in front of the area outside the business and two additional handguns were found discarded underneath the vehicles that were parked in front of the location.

During their investigation, officers viewed video surveillance footage but it could not be determined who discarded the two additionally found firearms.

A records check showed the suspect who was found to be in possession of the firearm was a convicted felon and he was subsequently placed under arrest. He was later booked into jail for weapons violations.

According to a press release from the Riverside Police Department, this was the second night in a row that Riverside Police officers have had to respond to the same business at closing time and made arrests for subjects in illegal possession of firearms.
