MORENO VALLEY: 2 arrested following three-month long narcotics investigation
MORENO VALLEY – Deputies arrested two Redlands residents on Thursday, April 7, following a three-month long investigation into reported narcotics trafficking occurring in Moreno Valley, according to a sheriff official.
The deputies’ investigation revealed a subject was transporting large quantities of methamphetamine and other narcotics into the city of Moreno Valley from neighboring cities.
Following a traffic stop, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police Station’s Special Enforcement Team served two narcotics-related search warrants in the cities of Redlands and Colton. During the service of the two warrants, deputies located narcotics, weapons and ammunition, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Holmes.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Police Station stopped a vehicle that their investigation determined was involved in the narcotics trafficking, after they observed a vehicle code violation. The traffic stop was conducted near Heacock Street and Lake Summit Drive in Moreno Valley.
Deputies detained two occupants from the vehicle, identified as Lisa Zubiate, 18, and Dallas Jackson, 21, both from Redlands, and conducted a search of the vehicle. During their search, deputies located about ½ pound of methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle, according to Holmes.
Based on their investigation and the recovered methamphetamine, deputies followed up by serving search warrants at two different apartments related to the two subjects from the vehicle. The warrants were served at about 5 p.m., in the 1600 Block of Barton Road in Redlands and the 1300 Block Meadow in Colton, according to Holmes.
Illegal weapons, narcotics, located and seized following a traffic stop in Moreno Valley
When deputies served the first search warrant at a Redlands apartment, they recovered two AR-15 assault rifles, two 30-round high-capacity magazines, and .223 caliber ammunition.
A search warrant that deputies served at a Colton apartment uncovered seven additional pounds – 3178 grams – of methamphetamine, 21 grams of black tar heroin, 2 grams of cocaine, a Taurus 410 shotgun revolver – which is illegal to own in California – and other items associated with narcotics sales.
Deputies also located a large, unspecified sum of US currency that they seized for asset forfeiture proceedings.
Based on the recovered evidence, deputies arrested Jackson and Zubiate. The two were booked into jail for a variety of narcotics and weapons related charges, including possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sales, possession of unregistered assault rifles and the unregistered revolver, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin and other charges.
“The Moreno Valley Police Department will be vigilant in arresting violators of the law, Holmes wrote in a press release. “The Moreno Valley Department would like to remind all citizens to be aware of their surroundings at all times and report any suspicious activity, including any vehicles or persons by calling 911 for emergencies, or calling our dispatch center non-emergency line at (951) 247-8700.”
