HORSE THIEF CANYON: Toddler hospitalized with major injuries after near-drowning incident

HORSE THIEF CANYON – A toddler has been transported to a local hospital with major injuries after suffering a near-drowning incident in a residential swimming pool, according to fire officials.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the report of a pediatric drowning incident in the 13100 block of Bay Meadows Court, near Horse Thief Canyon Road. The residence is located in the Alberhill community north of Lake Elsinore.

Riverside County emergency communications dispatchers received the first 911 call at 3:53 p.m., according to CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Public Information Officer Jody Hagemann.

“A male toddler was removed from a swimming pool and transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance for treatment of serious injuries, according to Hagemann.

No further information about the victim was available.
