Sara’s Town
Episode 18 – L.A. Kings Sled Hockey Team
Our first frozen episode! Sara strapped into a hockey sled and spent an evening with the remarkable athletes of the L.A. Kings sled hockey team.
If you’ve never seen sled hockey, now’s your chance.
Created in Sweden to allow the disabled to enjoy the sport of hockey – and every bit as rough and tumble as traditional hockey – sled hockey has caught on across the world. It’s a fast-moving sport played low to the ice with all the energy and drama of ice hockey.
In this episode, the 18th in Sara’s ongoing series for Sara’s Town, Sara joined the L.A. Kings sled hockey team for a practice session.
She met the players, learned about the equipment and tried out the game for herself.
Sara’s favorite lesson was how the wonderful group extended their team spirit to include her as part of the team.
After her fun-filled evening training with and interviewing the team, Sara wanted to say, “Thank you Los Angeles Kings!”
Also in this episode Sara takes her Sara Cam along as we get four new hens from Rancho Vet Tack and Feed. (The other Molly!)
This is the eighteenth episode of Sara’s Town: a YouTube series created, written and hosted by Sara McMahon. In an interesting and family-friendly way it features the people and businesses of Riverside County, California.
Sara’s vision is to be a positive role model for children. She wants to “Help kids be kids” by letting them enjoy the everyday blessings all around us – sometimes right in our own hometown.
