Man believed fatally shot over “ongoing dispute” in Mead Valley, officials say

MEAD VALLEY – Deputies believe an “ongoing dispute” led to the deadly shooting of a man who was fatally shot, Saturday, June 18. The victim was found dead from at least one gunshot wound in the yard of someone he had been feuding with, in the 19000 block of Robinson Street, in Mead Valley, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Wallace Clear.

Riverside County emergency dispatchers received a 911 call reporting the shooting at 4:56 p.m. Deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Perris Station rushed to the location, arriving within minutes of the dispatched call.

Upon arrival, “deputies found a deceased adult male with a gunshot wound on the front yard of the property,” Clear explained. “The victim did not reside on the property but was acquainted with the owners and believed to be part of an ongoing dispute.”

Based on the circumstances of the fatal shooting, investigators from the Perris Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to family members.

“This homicide is still under investigation,” Clear said.
