Two shot, one killed at Moreno Valley residence
MORENO VALLEY – Very few details have been released after a welfare check at a residence led deputies to a shocking discovery of two people who had been shot, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s officials. The two victims were found at a home in the 13200 block of Wichita Way near Pawnee Drive, in Moreno Valley, Friday, June 24, at 9:50 a.m.
During the welfare check, deputies reportedly located a woman who had been fatally shot and a man who sustained major traumatic injuries from a gunshot wound. Paramedics treated the male victim at the scene before transporting him to a local trauma center.
Investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Station and the sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation.
The two victims have not yet been officially identified and sheriff’s officials have not yet released the victim’s ages or how – or if – the pair were related to each other.
Although officials have stated they believed the shooting was an isolated incident, no details have been provided how they came to that conclusion. As of Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m., no arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing.
