Montclair man arrested for Moreno Valley attempted murder
MORENO VALLEY – Investigators located and arrested a man for attempted murder and other charges on Tuesday, July 12 three days after he allegedly stabbed another man on Saturday, July 9.
In the early morning on Saturday, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police Station responded to a report of an adult male who had been stabbed. A 911 caller reported the victim was lying in the front yard of a residence.
Deputies quickly arrived and located the man suffering from a serious stab wound.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before they transported him to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The suspect had fled the area before the deputies’ arrival.
During their investigation, sheriff’s officials identified Joseph Lee Kim, age 30, of Montclair as the alleged suspect, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant James Rayls.
Investigators located Kim on July 12, at about 4:15 p.m. in the 23000 block of Sunnymead Ranch Parkway, Moreno Valley. He was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
A jail record search indicated Kim was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, attempted murder with malice and assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in lieu of one million dollars bail as he awaits trial. His next court date is scheduled for July 26 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

This guy was our waiter for years . Could never see this happening. He was always so soft spoken and kind. Everyone seemed to like him. Just wondering if it wasn’t in self defense and would like to hear more about what happened.
