Hemet Police officers apprehend robbery suspect

HEMET – A man who assaulted a store clerk and stole beer from Los Altos Meat Market was apprehended by Hemet Police officers after he fled on foot from the business and from officers. The market is located at 126 N Carmalita Street, in Hemet

After he was captured following a police foot pursuit, officers identified the alleged suspect as Moses David Delgado, 23, of Hemet. He was arrested for robbery and three misdemeanor warrants.

Hemet Police 911 Communications Center dispatchers received a report of an in-progress theft from the market Monday, July 18, at about 1:20 p.m.

The victim told dispatchers Delgado assaulted them while he was stealing beer from the market. The victim did not require medical attention.

As officers converged on the business, they spotted Delgado running from the area of the market.

Officers pursued Delgado and took him into custody without further incident on Harvard street.

A jail record search revealed Delgado was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of second-degree robbery – a felony – and three misdemeanor warrants. Delgado is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail and is expected to be in court Wednesday, July 20.
