Congratulations to Sgt. Dan Reinbolt who graduated from the eight month long Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.

From Hemet PD:

The Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SBSLI) is a program designed to stimulate personal growth, leadership, and ethical decision-making in California law enforcement front-line supervisors. Designed and implemented in 1988 through the efforts of California law enforcement professionals and top educators and trainers, the SBSLI is an intense program based on experiential learning techniques. Students are challenged to learn new ways to resolve issues through group and individual work.

The curriculum takes students through an analysis of management (planning, organizing, directing, etc.) and leadership (inspiring, challenging, developing, etc.) and how each discipline compliments the other. The course progresses from self-evaluation to interpersonal evaluation, to organizational relationships.

“Nice work Sarge! Job well done!”

Welcome back to school!

As many of you may have already figured out it is the first day of school for the Hemet Unified School District. We ask that you use caution when traveling around the campus sites and for parents who drop off and pick up students a few friendly reminders.

1. Please do not park or stop in the RED zones.
2. Please do not park or stop in front of fire hydrants.
3. Please do not park illegally in a handicap stall.
4. Use the designated drop off and pick up areas designated by the school.
5. Stop and yield when children are in the crosswalk.

By following the rules it will make the campus sites safer for your students and their friends. It will also cut down on the hundreds of calls, posts, and pictures we get every school year about parents parking illegally.

Please be patient as it always takes a good week or two for everyone to get into a routine. Thank you for your cooperation.

Online Reporting Is Available

From Hemet PD:

Did you know that the City of Hemet Police Department offers online police reporting? If you can read this message on your computer then you can complete a police report online!

What is online reporting?

Online reporting is designed to allow you to complete your police report from the comfort of your home at the time of your choosing. You simply follow the link, check the boxes, fill in your information, and write your narrative.

Once you complete your report, you submit it and will receive a temporary file number. Once the report has been approved, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that includes the permanent report number as well as a link that will allow you to print a copy of your report for free.

What are the benefits of online reporting?

➢ No need to wait for a police officer or to even call the police department.
➢ Complete the report from the comfort of your home, at your leisure.
➢ Obtain a free copy of your report once it has been approved.
➢ The report is reviewed and approved (or rejected) by a police officer. Once the report has been approved, it goes into records just like any other report.
➢ Examples of the kinds of things that can be reported online: Harassing phone calls, hit and run collisions, lost property, theft, vandalism, and vehicle burglaries.
What are the drawbacks of online reporting?
➢ The system is not designed for follow up. If you want someone to conduct further investigation into your report, this is not the appropriate venue. For example, if you have a known suspect that you would like the Police to contact, then you will need to speak with an officer.
➢ Not all reports are eligible for online reporting. A stolen vehicle report for example, will need to be reported to an officer in person as there are forms that need to be signed.
➢ We don’t have the staffing to monitor the system 24/7 so it may take a few days before your report is reviewed.

How do I complete an online report?

➢ You may access the system through the city website here.
➢ You may access it directly here.

As always if you’d like us to respond instead of using the on-line reporting feature we are just a call away. (951) 765-2400.
