Man shot multiple times outside Riverside business
RIVERSIDE – A man was seriously injured when he was shot several times during an argument outside a business Monday, Aug. 29. The shooting incident happened in the 2900 block of 14th Street in Riverside. The Riverside Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the shooting suspect.
Riverside Police officers responded to several 911 reports of a shooting that had just occurred at about 7:09 p.m. Officers quickly arrived and located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the location.
Paramedics and other emergency first responders treated the victim at the scene before they transported him to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim was not able to provide a suspect description. His current condition is unknown.
A preliminary investigation conducted by responding officers revealed the suspect and victim were engaged in a heated verbal dispute outside a business complex just before the shooting occurred. During the argument the suspect pulled out a weapon and fired several rounds at the victim, striking him multiple times.
After the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled from the location in an unknown direction.
Detectives from the Gang Intelligence Unit along with an evidence technician from the department’s Forensics Unit responded to the crime scene and assumed the investigation.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 11 (soon to be 12) grandchildren.
