RIVERSIDE – A woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked and beat a homeowner with his own golf club in the 4300 block of Caroline Court in Riverside Oct. 24.

At about 6 a.m., officers responded to a 911 report regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The caller told emergency dispatchers he had been attacked and beaten outside his residence. When officers arrived they detained the alleged suspect, who was identified as Shanice Wilson, 27, of Riverside.

During their investigation, officers determined Wilson was loitering on the porch of a residence when the owner of the home confronted her with a golf club. Wilson wrestled the golf club away from the homeowner and hit him in the head and shoulders with it.

After striking the victim with his own golf club Wilson fled the scene, only to return and further assault the victim and vandalize his property.

Officers arrived and quickly detained Wilson. Officers learned Wilson had warrants for failure to appear on numerous charges, including petty theft, resisting arrest, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and theft.

At the conclusion of their investigation officers arrested Wilson. She was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism, and numerous charges related to her warrants.

A jail records search revealed Wilson was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail and is scheduled to be seen at the Riverside Hall of Justice Nov. 4.
