Alleged Coachella drug dealer arrested, hundreds of fentanyl pills seized

COACHELLA, Calif., — Authorities say a search warrant served at a private residence in Coachella led to the discovery and seizure of hundreds of fentanyl pills Thursday morning, Nov. 18. A woman was arrested as a result of the search warrant and discovery.

Members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance from the Coachella Community Action Team, served a 9:30 a.m. search warrant at a residence located in the 84000 block of Via Durango in Coachella, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Paul Heredia has since reported.

During the service of the search warrant, Gang Task Force Officers located a bag containing several hundred fentanyl pills and arrested 19-year-old Kiana Camarena at the scene.

Camarena was later booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sales. 

Online jail records indicate she was released the same day as her arrest after posting $50,000 bail or bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned at the Indio Larson Justice Center on Jan. 28.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
