SAN JACINTO: Man found murdered in his own home, officials investigating

SAN JACINTO – Sheriff’s officials are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found killed in his home Wednesday, Oct. 26. The murder happened in the 2000 block of St. Emilion Lane, San Jacinto.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to a 911 call regarding a deceased adult male discovered inside his residence at about 8:35 a.m., Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Wallace Clear explained in a press release.

Deputies arrived within minutes and located evidence consistent with a homicide. Based on the circumstances, investigators from the San Jacinto Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to Clear.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
