VALLE VISTA – Very few details are known after a subject died in their own car this morning in the 25100 block of W. Posey Drive in Valle Vista. W. Posey Drive is located east of Ramona Expressway and west of Fairview Avenue.
The victim was involved in a minor collision with a metal patio cover; however, it was not known if the person, who has not been identified pending notification of their family, died before or after the collision.
The incident was reported to California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Sheriff emergency dispatchers by a neighbor who found the victim about 10:09 a.m.
The 911 caller told emergency dispatchers the driver of a black Cadillac was inside their own car when the vehicle struck a support from a metal car awning.
Shortly after CHP and sheriff’s officials arrived, the victim was pronounced dead.
It was not immediately known if the officers or other emergency first responders attempted life saving measures or if the victim was determined to have died prior to their arrival. It was also not known if the victim died of natural causes or if their death happened before the collision or as a result of the minor accident.
Coroner’s officials were summoned to the residence at 10:56 a.m. They arrived at the location about 30 minutes later to process the scene and take custody of the victim’s body for further investigation and determination of the cause of death.
