FONTANA: Boy, 15, stabbed to death by 14-year-old

FONTANA – A 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed outside a Fontana movie theater Saturday night, Jan. 14, and a 14-year-old was arrested minutes after the stabbing, according to Fontana police officials. The deadly incident happened in the 16700 block of Valley Boulevard in Fontana.

Police have stated they believe the incident was gang-related.

Authorities have not released the identities of either subjects, pending notification of the murdered boy’s family and further investigation by Fontana PD.

Fontana police officers responded to the Fontana Regency 8 movie theater about 9:45 p.m., after several people called 911 to report the violent incident.

When they arrived, officers and firefighter/paramedics found the young victim near the theater’s front entrance.

Paramedics immediately began treating the 15-year-old victim, who had been stabbed multiple times to his upper body, according to Fontana PD officials. The boy was rushed to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

During their initial investigation, officers quickly gathered leads and information about the juvenile suspect. They located the 14-year-old minutes after the stabbing was reported. He was apprehended just a short distance away from the theater, according to officials.

At the conclusion of their initial investigation, officials booked the suspect into a juvenile detention facility.
