VALLE VISTA: Victim sustains “multiple gunshot wounds,” suffers “life-threatening injuries”

VALLE VISTA — Authorities are investigating an attempted murder after a man was shot “multiple” times in an otherwise quiet neighborhood, Friday, Sept. 8. The early morning shooting happened in the 25000 block of Stephvon Way, south of Olive Avenue and northeast of Ramona Expressway in the unincorporated community of Valle Vista, east of Hemet.

Deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Hemet Station were dispatched to the area shortly after midnight, at 12:19 a.m., after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Ron Lawler explained in a written press release after the shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found “a 24-year old Valle Vista man with multiple gunshot wounds,” said Lawler. Deputies began life-saving efforts and summoned paramedics and an ambulance to the scene.

American Medical Response medics transported to a local hospital where he was evaluated and treated for “potentially life-threatening injuries,” according to Lawler, who explained, “This appears to be an intentional assault against the victim and the investigation is continuing.”
