HEMET: Officials investigating shooting incident near Hemet HS
HEMET — Authorities have released almost no information after a man was shot in a residential neighborhood just east of Hemet High School and south of Stetson Avenue. The Thursday evening, Oct. 5 shooting happened on the 41800 block of Jennifer Avenue at the intersection of Roger Street in an unincorporated area, east of Hemet.
After the shooting, Hemet Gang Task Force and other law enforcement officials conducted an extensive manhunt for the shooting suspect. As of Saturday evening, officials have not released if anyone had been questioned or arrested related to the shooting.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Hemet Station responded to the area about 7:30 p.m., after receiving reports of a possible shooting.
When deputies arrived, they located a man who had been shot near the intersection of Jennifer Avenue and Roger Street.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire and American Medical Response medics responded to the scene to evaluate and treat the injured man before medics transported him to an area hospital.
Throughout the evening, sheriff’s officials were seen photographing, documenting and collecting evidence at the scene of the shooting.
Information from the community reporters at the scene indicated deputies were searching for a subject believed to be armed with a 9 mm handgun and possibly driving an older, multi-color, primer-painted, pickup truck. The vehicle had the words, “No Parking” painted on the tail gate of the truck.
It was not immediately known if the vehicle or person being sought for questioning had been located and interviewed by officials.
As of this report, officials have not yet released a statement regarding the shooting and have not provided an update regarding the extent or nature of the shooting victim’s injuries.
The investigation is active and ongoing.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
