Emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash shortly before 8:30 p.m., after receiving reports of a single-vehicle traffic collision. A 911 caller told emergency dispatchers there were possibly victims who were ejected in the crash and seriously injured.

When officials arrived they located multiple victims suffering various injuries. Upon closer investigation medical personnel determined none of the victims had been ejected from the wrecked sedan, described as a black Honda Accord.

Paramedics evaluated and treated the injured occupants from the car before American Medical Response medics transported at least three victims to an area hospital for further evaluation ad treatment. Their conditions and full extent of their injuries were not immediately known.

While medical personnel treated the injured, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police Station investigated the cause of the crash.

During their investigation deputies determined the vehicle had been traveling northbound on Broadleaf Lane when, for an unknown reason, the car failed to stop for a posted stop sign at Sunnymead Boulevard and slammed head-on into a sound wall that runs parallel with the eastbound 60 Freeway.

Although the sedan involved in the crash was listed both as an Uber and Lyft vehicle, according to officials at the scene the driver, described only as an adult male, was not driving in an official capacity for either company when the wreck happened.

Moreno Valley PD’s investigation into the cause of the crash is still active and ongoing.
