HEMET: No injuries after car plows into SUV
HEMET — There were no reported injuries after a car plowed into the back of an SUV Friday evening, Jan. 26. The non-injury traffic collision happened on Stetson Avenue between Girard and San Jacinto Avenues in Hemet.
City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments along with other emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash shortly before 6:45 p.m., after receiving multiple 911 reports of the collision.
When firefighters arrived they found two wrecked vehicles, described as newer model white sedan and silver Toyota RAV-4. The sedan had sustained heavy, front-end damage and the SUV had moderate, rear-end damage.
While firefighter-paramedics evaluated the occupants from the two vehicles, Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters provided traffic control until Hemet PD arrived to investigate the cause of the crash.
The accident caused rush-hour traffic in the area to back up and the street and several around it remained congested until the vehicles were towed and officials cleared the scene.
