City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with AMR medics, were dispatched to the intersection around 2 p.m., after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting an accident in  the intersection.

When officials arrived they found a grey sedan with major front-end damage that had struck a utility pickup towing a small manlift trailer. The truck and trailer sustained minor damage in the crash.

Both vehicles were within the intersection blocking lanes of traffic and officials called for the temporary closure of the southbound lanes of N. Sanderson Ave., from W. Fruitvale Ave., and all southbound traffic was diverted away from the accident scene.

Based on evidence at the scene of the crash, the sedan was traveling southbound on Sanderson approaching Menlo. At the same time, the pickup was making a left turn from Menlo onto Sanderson. Although the sedan struck the truck broadside, it was not immediately clear which vehicle had the right of way.

Officials have not released any information about this collision and are still working to determine the cause.
