Duo expecting prostitute meet Anderson PD’s POP Team instead

The Anderson Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team arrested two subjects this afternoon for solicitation of prostitution at a local motel.

The investigation began last week when Nasib Singh, age 36, of Anderson, went to a local day spa for a massage. Towards the end of the massage Singh offered to pay for sexual services, which the massage therapist declined to perform. Singh continued to harass the massage therapist asking her to perform a sexual act. Singh was told that type of conduct would not be tolerated and was asked to leave the establishment.

An Anderson Police Officer responded to the business and took a report, as Singh’s conduct met the requirements for criminal solicitation of prostitution.

An officer later contacted Singh in an undercover capacity and inquired if he was still seeking sexual services. Singh indicated he was and agreed to meet the undercover officer.

During the negotiations of price and services with the officer, Singh inquired as to the price for two customers. A price was agreed upon and a meeting was set at a local motel.

On August 18, 2018, Singh arrived at the predetermined motel and brought Dalip Singh, age 45, of Anderson with him. Once at the motel Nasib Singh walked to the room that he expected the prostitute to be located in, only to find two APD POP team members awaiting his arrival.

Both Nasib and Dalip Singh were arrested for solicitation of prostitution and loitering for the purposes of prostitution. Both subjects were booked into the Shasta County Jail.

While some may feel that this isn’t a “serious or violent crime” it is the stance of the Anderson Police Department to enforce all laws that ensure a safe and comfortable working environment for our citizens and business owners.

We would like to commend the employees of the day spa who stood up against Singh’s inappropriate sexual advances and sent the message that his actions would not be tolerated.
