CHP, Riverside County Sheriff-Perris Station, and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the accident around 3 p.m., after receiving several reports of the crash. 911 callers reported the accident involved a blue 2015 Yamaha and grey, 2013 Toyota Tacoma, and that the rider was still down in the roadway.

Deputies arrived within moments of the dispatched call and reported the accident happened just north of Daytona Cove and that the motorcyclist sustained major injuries.

Officials requested the temporary closure of the northbound lanes of Harvill and traffic was diverted away from the scene of the accident.

The motorcycle rider was eventually rushed to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley. His condition was listed as serious with “severe” injuries, according to an official at the scene.

Both vehicles were later impounded as evidence related to the accident.
