LAKE ELSINORE — Officials have identified three women killed in a head-on collision that happened yesterday afternoon, Friday, Sept. 7. The deadly crash happened on SR-74 between Trellis Ln. and Riverside St., in Lake Elsinore.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials identified today Temecula residents, 51-year-old, Claudia Goldstein and 31-year-old Janee Briscoe, as well as 47-year-old, Riverside resident, Tatiana Roach, as the trio killed when the two vehicles collided. According to a coroner’s release all three women died at the scene of the crash.

Lake Elsinore PD’s investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information or who witnessed the collision is asked to call Officer Petersen of the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300. Callers can refer to incident file number L182500057 and can remain anonymous. Citizens may also submit an anonymous tip using the Sheriff’s CrimeTips online form.

LAKE ELSINORE — Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle, head-on collision that resulted in the deaths of all three occupants from the two sedans. The deadly collision happened earlier this afternoon on SR-74 between Trellis Ln. and Riverside St., in Lake Elsinore.

When deputies assigned to Lake Elsinore PD arrived at the scene they found a gold Honda that had been traveling eastbound and silver Nissan that had been traveling westbound had collided head-on, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. James Woodland later explained in a press release.

Based on the circumstances, Lake Elsinore PD Traffic Team members responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, according to Woodland. Forensic technicians from the department’s Forensic Service Bureau also responded to the scene to assist with documenting, photographing, and collecting evidence related to the deadly crash.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s PIO released via Twitter, “The Traffic Team is still out there conducting an investigation. Please use alternate routes & please be patient. There are no updates available on the collision.”

Highway 74 was closed to through traffic between Riverside St. and Trellis Ln. for about 6 hours and the highway was reopened around 8 p.m.

LAKE ELSINORE — Three people have reportedly died after a two-vehicle, head-on collision in Lake Elsinore earlier this afternoon, Friday, Sept. 7. According to a CHP incident log the deadly crash happened on SR-74 between Trellis Ln. and Riverside St., between the cities of Lake Elsinore and Perris.

California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, along with Cal Fire and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the accident shortly before 1:20 p.m., after receiving reports of a head-on crash, CHP’s incident log indicated.

911 callers reported the vehicles as a gold or brown Honda sedan and silver Nissan sedan. One caller told emergency dispatchers the crash “looks bad” and that the wrecked vehicles were blocking the roadway. Another caller reported the vehicles were smoking and possibly catching fire.

“The first arriving engine company reported two vehicles involved with a total of three victims,” Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire spokesperson Tawny Cabral later explained in an incident report. “All three victims perished at the scene.”

Officials have not released the names of the deceased, pending identification and notification of the victims’ families.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Perris Station arrived about 1:35 p.m., and confirmed for CHP that three victims were killed in the collision. Based on the severity of the deadly collision, officials requested county roads to the scene to assist with closing the highway.

Officials issued a SigAlert shortly after 2 p.m. due to heavy traffic, which had quickly backed up several miles in both directions and CHP’s incident log indicated SR-74 was closed between Trellis Ln. and Riverside St.

As of this report, officials were still working to determine if CHP or RSO was responsible for handling the collision investigation and other than CHP’s incident log, no information has been released regarding this crash.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
