Officials investigating after body found in Hemet empty lot
HEMET — Authorities are conducting a death investigation after a dead body was found Thursday evening, Sept. 20, in an empty lot on the 1100 block of N. State St. in Hemet. Officials have said the victim was believed to have died of natural causes and no foul play was suspected.

Hemet Police Department responded to the empty lot around 8 p.m., after receiving reports of an unresponsive person laying on the ground between Desert Palms mobile home park and Lock Away Storage.
When officers arrived they found a person on the ground and confirmed the victim was deceased. As of this report, coroner officials have been summoned to the scene and will be assisting in the death investigation.
Hemet Police Cpt. Glenn Brock later said the incident was being handled as a routine, unattended death investigation and no foul play was suspected at that time.
Officers have not yet released the victim’s name, pending identification and notification of the person’s family.
Hemet PD’s investigation is active and ongoing at the scene.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
