Hemet PD officers responded to the business around 4 p.m., after receiving multiple reports of a group of juvenile males harassing people in the street. One 911 caller reported one of the three was possibly armed with a knife. Another reported the group was beating a homeless man and had possibly tasered a homeless woman, but it was not immediately known if a taser was actually used during the alleged robbery.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes, but learned the alleged suspects had already fled from the area after robbing the homeless pair of what little money they had. Witnesses described the trio as wearing expensive-looking, designer clothing and provided clothing and other descriptions to responding officers.

Officers who converged on the area soon spotted the three males walking about a half mile away, in the area of Acacia Ave. and Santa Fe St. They were detained without incident.

Officers discovered the three were still in possession of the money they had allegedly robbed and the victims positively identified the trio as the ones who had robbed them.

Officers later returned the money to the pair before arresting the three and transporting them to Hemet PD for further processing on suspicion of armed robbery and other related charges. It was not immediately known if the alleged suspects were booked into Southwest Juvenile Hall in Murrieta or released to their parents.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation or who may have been targeted or victimized by these juveniles is encouraged to contact Hemet PD at (951) 765-2400. Callers can remain anonymous.
