Officials working to ID woman killed in MoVal home
MORENO VALLEY — Deputies and medical personnel who were dispatched to a medical aid call at a Moreno Valley home early Thursday evening, Jan. 17, found themselves in the middle of a homicide scene after finding a deceased woman at the residence. The deadly incident happened in the 23100 block of Denver Ct., a small cul-de-sac southeast of Eucalyptus and Adeline avenues.
Officials detained and later arrested a man at the home and he has since been booked into jail on first degree murder charges. The man, later identified as Ricardo Rivera, 22, of Moreno Valley, remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

Deputies assigned to Moreno Valley PD were dispatched to the home just after 5 p.m., after receiving reports of a medical aid request for an injured woman.
When officials arrived they found “a deceased female with obvious trauma, inside the residence,” Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez later explained. Officials are still working to identify the deceased woman, who has only been described as a white female, approximately 20-30 years-old.
Deputies detained Rivera, who was believed to have been at the residence when the murder happened, and secured the home as a crime scene. He was later arrested and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of first degree murder.
Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Moreno Valley PD investigators responded to the home and assumed the investigation. They were assisted by technicians from the department’s Forensic Services Bureau, Coroner’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office.
As the investigation was getting underway, the small cul-de-sac where the alleged murder occurred – which features just sixteen homes – was filled with official vehicles. A mobile command center was brought to the scene and officials were seen going in and out of the RV throughout the rest of the evening and into the next morning.
Neighbors and area residents watched the crime scene unfold around them and many speculated about what may have led to the deadly incident.
The Sheriff’s investigation is active and ongoing, according to Ramirez, who said no further information will be released at this time.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
