Separate accidents one exit apart slowing SR-44W traffic
REDDING — Officials are at the scene of two unrelated non-injury, single-vehicle, traffic collisions that are causing minor delays on westbound Highway 44W. The first accident was reported at the Shasta View Dr. north on ramp and the second crash was reported minutes later at the Victor Rd. off ramp.

California Highway Patrol and Redding PD, along with other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the crashes about 2:20 p.m., after receiving separate reports of a vehicle that struck a tree at Shasta View Dr. and a second vehicle that struck a bridge at Victor Rd.
When officials arrived at the Shasta View accident scene they found a vehicle against struck a tree. The occupant from the damaged car, described as a silver coupe, was uninjured and did not require medical treatment, according to a CHP incident log.
After a tow was requested for the first vehicle, CHP went to the second crash at Victor Rd., where they located a vehicle that had struck a bridge abutment. It was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the second collision, and CHP requested CalTrans to the scene shortly before 3 p.m.
Contacted for information about the two crashed and weather conditions, CHP reminded area residents and commuters to use extra caution when driving in the snow and on the wet highway, and for motorists to allow more time to reach their desired destinations, due to the road conditions.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
