LEADING THE HEMET HEADLINES:
Two women apprehended after suspected DUI hit and run
City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with AMR and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the area of N. San Jacinto St. shortly before 9 a.m., after receiving reports of a man who was bleeding heavily along the side of a building. A 911 caller reported the victim had possibly been stabbed.
First arriving officers confirmed the victim – who was seriously injured and not able to provide officers trying to investigate the incident with any information – sustained serious injuries to his neck and throat. Based on the severity of the victim’s injuries, paramedics immediately requested an air ambulance to the scene.
After paramedics stabilized the grievously injured victim, they rushed him to Hemet Valley Hospital where a Mercy Air Ambulance landed about 15 minutes later. The victim was then life-flighted to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley for further treatment.
The man’s family and friends later identified the victim as Darnell Mora, of San Jacinto. They say he is currently listed in critical condition but that his condition is slowly improving.
Hemet PD has not yet released any information regarding their investigation, which is active and ongoing.
