City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with AMR and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m., after receiving reports of the solo-vehicle crash. Based on the circumstances, multiple engine and truck companies were dispatched to the crash. A Mercy Air Ambulance was also placed on standby in case it was needed.

When officials arrived they found a green late-model car that was overturned and on its roof in a drainage culvert along the side of Domenigoni Parkway.

Officials soon discovered the driver and sole occupant from the wrecked vehicle had managed to self-extricate from their overturned car. Paramedics evaluated the driver, who was reportedly uninjured in the crash and did not require further medical treatment.

All additional responders, including Mercy Air, were subsequently cancelled.

Hemet police officers who investigated the cause of the crash administered a field sobriety test on the driver and determined the person was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The victim’s heavily damaged vehicle was later righted back onto its wheels and towed from the scene, and Hemet PD’s accident investigation is ongoing.
