CHP headed to Hwy 44 rollover crash involving elderly woman

OLD STATION — Cal Fire has arrived at the scene of a rollover traffic accident involving a vehicle that plowed through a guardrail and overturned onto its side off Hwy 44, east of Old Station. The non-injury accident happened about six miles east of the junction of highways 44 and 89, according to a CHP incident log.
Cal Fire officials requested CalTrans to the scene to assess and repair a section of the guardrail that was destroyed in the crash, as well as a flat-bed tow truck to remove the wrecked vehicle.
Cal Fire did not report any injuries involving the elderly female driver and they reported the victim’s vehicle ended up about 25 feet off the roadway.
As of this update, CHP was still headed to the scene.

OLD STATION — Authorities are headed to the scene of a rollover traffic collision that happened east of Old Station this morning, Friday, March 29. The solo-vehicle accident happened on Hwy 44, about six miles east of the junction of highways 44 and 89.

CHP was first alerted to the crash around 9:20 a.m., after receiving the report of a vehicle that lost control and overturned, according to a CHP incident log. The 911 caller reported that several witnesses and good Samaritans were helping to pull an elderly woman from her vehicle, which ended up on its side.
CHP’s incident log later updated that the overturned vehicle was off the roadway and was not blocking the lanes of travel on the winding, two-lane mountain highway.
Shasta County Cal Fire has been notified and as of this report was still headed to the scene. CHP is also still en route, and as of 9:40 a.m., no emergency personnel were on scene.
It was not immediately known what may have led to the rollover crash; however, snow and icy conditions throughout the area have been causing delays in travel times, as area motorists and commuters deal with inclement weather and roadway conditions.
There were no further updates regarding the elderly victim or possible injuries.
Contacted for more information regarding the crash and current roadway conditions, CHP reminded area commuters to use extra caution when driving in the snow and on the wet highway and for motorists to allow more time to reach their desired destinations, due to the road conditions.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
