Two recent Shasta Lake incidents yield four arrests
CITY OF SHASTA LAKE — Four people were arrested during two separate incidents in City of Shasta Lake last Sunday, March 31. In the first incident, deputies arrested a man who was seen throwing large rocks at passing cars. The second incident, what one area resident later called a “three for one deal,” was the service of an arrest warrant that ended with three people arrested for various outstanding warrants.

The first arrest happened at around 9:30 a.m., after a concerned citizen flagged down deputies regarding a male throwing large rocks at passing vehicles.
“The male had thrown a fist-sized rock at the citizen’s passing vehicle, narrowly missing the vehicle’s windshield,” Shasta County Sheriff’s City of Shasta Lake Division later reported on social media.

Deputies quickly located and contacted the rock-wielding menace, who was placed under arrest, according to SCSO. Officials did not specify if the person was an adult or juvenile and did not release the subject’s name.
Deputies later went to a residence in the 4700 block of Parker St. to serve an arrest warrant on a subject known to reside at the location.
“When deputies arrived, the subject was not located,” SCSO reported in a second social media post. “However, three individuals contacted had outstanding arrest warrants and were arrested without incident.”
SCSO identified those three individuals as Melissa Miller, Jeffry Rankin, and Curtis Harris; but officials did not specify what their warrants were for.
SCSO later thanked area residents and encouraged them to always notify deputies of any suspicious activity, “so they can do their best to improve … quality of life” throughout the area.
