No injuries reported after rollover crash near Old Station

OLD STATION — Officials are at the scene of a rollover traffic accident involving a sedan that overturned and struck a tree this afternoon, Saturday, April 13. According to a CHP incident log, the accident happened near mile marker 7200 along Highway 44, about eight miles east of the junction of highways 89 and 44.

CHP, Cal Fire, and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of the crash around 1:45 p.m., after receiving reports of a rollover accident involving a black Dodge Dart. 911 callers reported several other vehicles were pulled off the roadway and good Samaritans were checking on the status of those involved in the accident.

While officials were still headed to the scene, 911 callers updated that three victims were out of the overturned vehicle and were seen using their cell phones to call for and update emergency services.

Fire and rescue personnel began arriving at the scene around 2:15 p.m., and reported there were no injuries, at which time the bulk of responding emergency personnel were cancelled.

The crash was not having a significant impact on traffic along the winding mountain roadway and a flat-bed tow truck has been summoned to the location.

Officials remain at the scene as of this report and no further updates have been provided.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
