Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey to be Metrolink ”Guest Train Conductor”
RIVERSIDE — Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey will be heard on board Metrolink trains on the 91/Perris Valley line as the mayor serves as a “Guest Train Conductor.”
Bailey’s message will welcome Metrolink travelers aboard in a recorded message, while giving important information about the rail system, announcing upcoming stops, and providing information on points of interest along the way.

Bailey has been mayor of the Inland Empire’s most populous city since 2012 having been first elected to the Riverside City Council in 2007.
“Riverside is my hometown and I think I know its rich heritage as well as anyone, so it’s a pleasure to voice the announcements for Metrolink as a unique way to engage riders and highlight many of the interesting aspects of our region,” Bailey recently said.
“Mayor Bailey’s life has been about public service from his college years at the United States Military Academy, his service as an Army officer, working for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as a school teacher,” Metrolink CEO Stephanie Wiggins explained while announcing Bailey’s appointment. “We look forward to hearing his dynamic voice on the Riverside and 91/Perris Valley lines.”

According to Metroling, the Guest Train Conductor program “enhances customer experience and builds interest in local destinations by using the voices of local celebrities and other well-known persons who provide information in their own styles.”

Trevor Montgomery, 47, moved last year to the Intermountain area of Shasta County from Riverside County and runs Riverside County News Source and Shasta County News Source. Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg, breaking his back, and suffering both spinal cord and brain injuries in an off-duty accident. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
