7, including wanted child molester, arrested during Bridgeway Inn sweep

REDDING — Seven people, including a man who was on felony parole for child molestation and had 4 felony warrants – one of which was for absconding from parole – were arrested during a parole and probation compliance check at Redding’s Bridgeway Inn on the 2700 block of Bechelli Lane.

According to officials, the Bridgeway Inn has been the source of “a large amount of calls for service each month” and Redding PD’s Neighborhood Police Unit has been investigating and conducting extra enforcement at the location for several months.

As part of their ongoing investigation into alleged criminal activities happening at the Inn, NPU officers conducted compliance checks for tenants who are on parole or probation, Redding PD Sgt. Danny Smetak said in a social media release today, Saturday, July 27.

When officers arrived at the location they spotted Kyle Murray, 29, of Redding, (photo 1 below), walking through the parking lot.

“Murray was known to NPU from prior narcotic investigations,” Smetak explained. “A search of Murray resulted in him being arrested for possession of heroin which was a violation of his release terms.”

After arresting Murray, NPU officers responded to the man’s room at the location, where they contacted Derek Harrington, 30, (photo 2 below), Tiffany Moses, 25, (photo 3 below), and Shelsea Mansfield, 30, (photo 4 below). All are Redding residents.

Officers soon learned Harrington had three outstanding warrants and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at which time they arrested him.

Moses was subsequently arrested for outstanding warrants and Mansfield was arrested for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was later cited and released.

NPU officers then responded to two additional hotel rooms where they found three other subjects who were all on parole, according to Smetak.

Leonard Rosslyn, 52, (photo 5 below), and Roger Kuykendall, 66, (photo 6 below), were found to be in violation of their parole terms and arrested.

“The third subject provided officers with false information and lied about his identity,” said Smetak. “Officers eventually identified him as Harold Marquette, 51, (photo 7 below), even though he adamantly denied it.”

“Once his identity was confirmed officers discovered Marquette was on parole for child molestation and had four felony warrants, one of which was for absconding from parole,” according to the Sgt.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
