Shasta Lake search warrant uncovers meth, heroin
CITY OF SHASTA LAKE — An ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation and search warrant served at a City of Shasta Lake home led to the arrest of a Shasta County woman Saturday morning, Nov. 23.
During the search warrant, which was served at a residence on the 3900 block of Red Bluff St., officers located and seized methamphetamine and heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia and items associated with drug sales, according to officials.

Deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, City of Shasta Lake Division, served a search warrant related to drug sales and trafficking at the residence around 8:20 a.m., Shasta County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scoma reported after the search warrant and arrest.
The target of the warrant was Yazmine Anona Billy, age 25, according to the Sgt.

During the service of the search warrant, Billy and the other occupants of the residence would not comply with the orders given by deputies to open the door, Scoma explained.
Then, as deputies were surrounding the home and continuing to order the occupants to exit the residence, they observed Billy discarding items out of one of the home’s windows.
“Those items were later recovered and determined to be approximately two grams of heroin and approximately 8.5 grams of methamphetamine,” said Scoma.
Deputies eventually gained entry into the residence, at which time Billy and two other people were detained without further incident.
During the subsequent search of the residence deputies located “numerous items of drug paraphernalia,” according to Scoma; who said, “Multiple Ziploc style bags were also located floating in the toilet bowl which appeared to be hastily discarded.”
Based on their investigation and evidence recovered during the search warrant, deputies arrested Billy and she was later booked into Shasta County Jail in Redding on suspicion of maintaining a residence for drug use or sales, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of sales, possession of heroin for the purpose of sales, destruction of evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two people who were initially detained along with Billy were later determined to not be involved in her alleged crimes and were released at the scene, according to Scoma.
