Homeland teen arrested after young victim sustains severe head trauma during robbery

HOMELAND, Calif. — Following a violent robbery that occurred last month, on May 12, deputies on Thursday arrested a Homeland teen for attempted murder and other related charges after their investigation led them to learning the 16-year-old suspect’s identity and whereabouts.

The victim, who was not identified due to his age, sustained “severe head trauma” and was hospitalized after the robbery, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Hamilton has since reported.

Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies began investigating the robbery, which happened shortly after 4 p.m., on the 31000 block of Highway 74 in the unincorporated area of Homeland, last month.

“Deputies arrived within minutes and located a male juvenile suffering from severe head trauma,” explained Hamilton; who said the young victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for serious injuries sustained during the robbery.

Based on the circumstances and victim’s severe traumatic injuries, members of the Perris Station’s Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation.

During their subsequent investigation, RBST deputies developed leads and gathered information that led them to identifying a 16 year-old as the suspect in the violent attack and robbery.

According to Hamilton, the teenage suspect was located and arrested June 18, and later booked into Juvenile Hall in Murrieta for attempted murder and robbery related to the May 12 incident.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
