Man arrested after rollover crash into Redding business

REDDING, Calif. — Already on probation with a “no alcohol” clause as a term of his probation, a Redding man was arrested after a suspected DUI-related rollover crash that sheared a utility pole and caused the man’s vehicle to crash into a Redding building early Friday morning, June 26.

The solo-vehicle crash, which sent the allegedly drunk driver to the hospital with moderate injuries, happened in the area of E. Cypress Ave. and Alfreda Way.

Redding Police and Fire personnel responded to reports of a traffic accident involving a vehicle that overturned and crashed into a business shortly after midnight, Redding Police Sgt. Gary Meadows later reported.

“When officers arrived, they discovered that a vehicle struck a power pole, shearing it in half, struck a building, then landed upside down on it’s roof,” Meadows explained; saying, “The driver and sole occupant was identified as Izaiah Harrisonferrari, 26 years of Redding.”

Officers immediately began treating Harrisonferrari for injuries sustained in the accident until an ambulance crew arrived and transported him to an area hospital for further treatment.

Meadows later described the man’s unspecified injuries as moderate.

Suspecting that Harrisonferrari was possibly under the influence of alcohol, officers continued their investigation at the hospital, where the injured man was receiving treatment.

Based on their investigation. officers determined Harrisonferrari was under the influence at the time of the crash and arrested him at the hospital.

However, due to his ongoing medical care, he was released from police custody to hospital staff, according to Meadows; who said, “A police report will be sent to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office requesting charges against Harrisonferrari for DUI and a probation violation.”
