Arrested on similar charges last week, man arrested again for fentanyl sales in Anderson

ANDERSON, Calif. — Authorities say a felon on probation was arrested in Anderson after a traffic stop led to the discovery of fentanyl Monday evening, May 17. After being left alone in an interrogation room at the Anderson Police Department, the man was caught on camera attempting to conceal additional fentanyl, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.

Once referred to as a “well-known drug dealer” by Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force members the man, Michael Todd Webb, 28, of Redding, was arrested just five days earlier in Redding after another traffic stop that led to the discovery of 1.75 ounces fentanyl, a digital scale and more than $2,200.

Webb’s most recent arrest happened after Anderson police officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of North Street and Oak Street, officials later reported.

Officers contacted Webb in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, they noticed that he “displayed objective symptoms of recent drug use” and was found to be on probation for drug offenses, according to officials.

During a subsequent search, officers found Webb was in possession of about 13 grams of Fentanyl.

Webb was then transported back to the Anderson Police Department where a DUI/Drug Influence exam was performed.

“While in the interview room Webb attempted to conceal another 7 grams of fentanyl and a small amount of methamphetamine he had hidden in his underwear,” officials explained; adding, “Unfortunately for Webb his actions were observed on camera by officers.”

Based on their investigation, officers arrested Webb and he was later booked into the Shasta County Jail in Redding on suspicion of possession and transportation of fentanyl for the purpose of sales, possession of methamphetamine, DUI drugs, committing a felony while out on O.R./Bail, and violation of probation.

Online jail records indicate Webb remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail or bond.
