Public contacts resulting from 911 calls, self-initiated patrol activities, and other investigations over the last two weeks ended with arrests for a variety of mostly minor crimes such as battery, public intoxication, disturbing the peace, trespassing and vandalism, as well as local and out-of-county warrants.

One of those arrested during the two week period included a local man, Trevor Jett Hanson, 32, who was arrested three times within four days on charges of public intoxication, disturbing the peace and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

The oft-arrested “frequent-flier” has now been arrested at least thirteen times since June 1st of this year, when SCNS began to compile these weekly statistics.

His many charges so far in the last few months have included battery on a peace officer, exhibiting a deadly weapon, violating civil rights by force or threat, disorderly conduct, trespassing and public intoxication; and his frequent arrests have begun to catch the attention of area residents left frustrated by the regular reports of his alleged crimes.

Another notable arrest involved a local man, 29-year-old Eric Costa, who was captured on multiple surveillance videos vandalizing at least ten downtown Mt. Shasta area businesses. The overnight tagging led to felony vandalism charges against Costa, who was released within hours of being booked into jail.
